Bart Gordon Collection

The Bart Gordon Congressional Collection offered Oluwayemisi valuable experience in processing a large congressional archive documenting Tennessee’s political history. Working independently, she digitized fragile materials such as newspaper clippings, rehoused and labeled files in acid-free folders, and updated the inventory to correct errors and provide clearer descriptions. This ongoing project has strengthened her skills in archival arrangement, preservation, and detailed description, while allowing her to apply best practices to ensure the collection remains organized and accessible for future researchers.

Winchester Survey Photographs

The Winchester Survey Photographs project gave Oluwayemisi hands-on experience in processing a collection of about 600 images documenting the built environment and community history of Winchester, Tennessee. She rehoused fragile prints into archival sleeves, labeled, and organized photographs for easier access. This project strengthened her skills in photographic preservation, description, and arrangement, while ensuring the materials can be more effectively used by researchers and the public.
